ExternoCiencia Inclusiva, 2019-09)

In this book, we present an epistemic and legal configuration of the notion of small and medium enterprises (SMEs): we conceptualize it and define its importance in the field of national and international legislation. at the same time, we present the genesis of the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in SMEs and describe the kinds of technology (software and hardware), to show the role these technologies have been played in the development of this type of enterprise, as well as the problems that arise in the third millennium. Finally, we make an assessment on the way in which ICTs have been adapted for SMEs, from their access, use, and adoption, with the aim of making a diagnosis of the training needs of SMEs in Santa Marta. one of the conclusions of this study is that many of the SMEs believe that ICTs are not necessary for their commercial activity or that their acquisition and maintenance is expensive. Therefore, we need to design a dissemination program to bring more information about the importance of these tools for business development, increasing productivity and competitiveness of the company. ICTs enable business objectives to be achieved more effectively because they improve access to information, support administrative management, expand access to suppliers and customers, and facilitate the promotion of products, both locally and globally.

Tourism growth is a trend in the 21st century and more for Colombia, which in recent years has undergone a process of social and political transformation, which has strengthened security indicators, so the country has become a very popular international tourist destination. This book presents a competitive development model for the tourism sector in the research and implementation phases. to do this, we expose the case of the southwest of Antioquia. We begin with the analysis of the relevant strategies to achieve the competitiveness of the tourism cluster in this subregion as a development engine. From there, we present conclusions and recommendations that contribute to choosing more efficient strategies to standardize services in productive units that want to act as a network of companies. also, we show some forms of organization that can make the management of a tourism product, resources, and competitiveness of the subregion more efficient; as well as the aspects that should continue to be strengthened for the construction of a product in this field. The southwest of Antioquia has great potential for its natural and cultural wealth. But it is essential to clearly articulate the different services to create an experience that impacts tourists and makes the territory a truly competitive space.

This book is based on the concept that the World Health Organization (WHO) has on violence against women, in which it is recognized that there may be rape in marriage, in dating, or practiced by a stranger, likewise , unwanted sexual advances, sexual harassment, sexual slavery, forced fecundation, and forced marriage, among others, are manifestations that are included in the context of sexual violence against women (WHO, 2013). The first chapter indicates the degree of violence against women that has been lived in recent years in the city of Monteria, official data on complaints filed by women are presented and an analysis is made of the protection measures imposed by the State in these cases. The second chapter analyzes how justice undervalues sexual violence against women and points it out as a normal act of courtship between men and women. The third chapter exposes the influence that drug trafficking has had on the normalization of violence against women and its reification, based on the history of the cartels that have influenced the city of Cartago.

Pymes, competencias laborales y tic: Competitividad, productividad e innovación organizacional

Ortiz Ocaña, Alexander; Cortés Méndez, Jairo Augusto; Páez Páez, Jaime Alberto; alexander.ortizo@campusucc.edu.co; jairo.cortes@campusucc.edu.co; jaime.paez@campusucc.edu.co(Ediciones Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Bogotá, ColombiaExternoCiencia Inclusiva, 2019-10)

This book takes as its main object of study small and medium enterprises (SMEs), from their competitive, productive and organizational innovation possibilities. This leads us to seek to understand what are the specific needs of this type of companies to be able to face the current market conditions and how they could solve them. This is how it is necessary to understand how the emergence and use of information and communication technologies (ICT) can influence the improvement of different management and production processes within SMEs. But ICT can not only contribute to the improvement of its internal functioning; They are also tools that have proven to be very effective in the promotion, dissemination, and distribution of products and services. Thus, information technologies must be seen as a factor of productivity and competitiveness that, well-focused, can achieve effective positioning. From this derives the need to identify, for SMEs, the labor competencies that must be sought and promoted in their employees, to ensure the success of their objectives, based on their perspectives and possibilities of organizational innovation from a configurational approach. In other words, the idea is to be able to understand how, based on the understanding of their potential, projected and optimized through the use of ICT, SMEs can build a knowledge of themselves that allows them to generate innovative differentiators that ensure their competitiveness. SMEs, job skills and ICT want to show that small and medium enterprises can and should be productive and competitive in the knowledge society. And this is achieved thanks to generating value, originality, creativity, and innovation, which, in turn, must function as the lever and engine of the economic and social development of the nation.

The interdisciplinary collection Studies of the Orinoquia and the Amazon seeks to generate knowledge, encourage academic discussion and assume alternative solutions to regional problems in the Orinoquia and the Amazon. If the Orinoquia and the Amazon are special territories due to their historical abandonment and they constitute a unique region, they must have a special treatment that facilitates their development and promotes access to scientific knowledge and goods produced in the developed world with respect for populations ancestral and regional cultures. In this second volume are works related to social and human sciences in these regions. Topics ranging from education in the Orinoquia are addressed; geopolitics, physical integration and development in the Amazon; passing through the quilombolas collectives in the Brazilian Amazon; contemporary Amazonian painting; indigenous life plans of the Amazon and Orinoquia; until the study of myth, the market and multiple ontologies in a forest garden project among the Sateré-Mawé of the Brazilian Amazon. The themes are varied and must be assumed from a theoretical, methodological and procedural opening to reach an understanding of the phenomenon in its dimensions and its contexts.

Cultura de paz: concepciones, percepciones y compromisos

Hernández Arteaga, Isabel; Unriza Puin, María Elsa; Llanez Anaya, Helmer Fernando; Simanca Herrera, Fredys Alberto; Angarita Becerra, Laureano David; isabel.hernandez@ucc.edu.co; maria.unriza@campusucc.edu.co; helmer.llanez@ucc.edu.co; fredys.simanca@campusucc.edu.co; macroler@yahoo.com(Ediciones Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Bogotá, ColombiaExternoCiencia Inclusiva, 2019-12)

This book presents the results of the research on peace culture conducted at the Cooperative University of Colombia, Bogotá headquarters. This issue is relevant, while Colombia is listed as one of the most violent countries in the world, which makes its culture vulnerable. The university community is aware that the construction of a culture of peace is a challenge and, at the same time, a premise to achieve the development of society. Its construction demands the participation of all. As part of university social responsibility, it is necessary to know how peace is projected from the university environment. For this, it must be understood what conceptions of peace and culture of peace people have and what commitments they are willing to make to build new processes and social relationships based on respect and empathy. The results of this research are permeated by the humanizing tendency of education, which, motivated the transcending rigid and stiff positions, to assume the participation and personal and collective interest in the creation of a culture of peace. Thus, this document presents relevant reflections and commitments, which are based on the social responsibility that the UCC must fulfill (as well as all universities), in relation to the issue of peace; articulating knowledge, experience, resources, and wills to respond to the challenges demanded by the creation and sustainability of a less violent society.

Caballero Parra, Fernanda; Giacalone, Rita; Vieira Posada, Edgar; Álvarez, María Victoria; Batalla, Isabel Clemente; De Lombaerde, Philippe; Fernández Saca, Juan Carlos; Nolte, Detlef; Ramos, Hugo Daniel; Rocha Valencia, Alberto; Romero Wimer, Fernando(Ediciones Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Bogotá, ColombiaExternoCiencia Inclusiva, 2019-12)

This book covers a series of investigations that promote reflections on two themes in general: the framework of regional integration in the 21st century and the present and future situations of Latin American and European integration. The topics analyzed in the first part include a wide range of nuances regarding the regional integration process, both from the perspective of your current situation and from proposals that aim to channel your future. The analysis of the characteristics and implications of free trade agreements highlights the existence of ideological positions, which hinder the academic debate on regional integration and the same integration process since that time and efforts could be better used to analyze, reflect and build viable proposals and recommendations. In the second part, we find a historical, current and prospective review of the relations between Mercosur and the European Union. Both the general framework of the first section and the specific situations of the second show the richness and variety of interpretations currently produced on regional integration. We consider the participation of academics from different fields, disciplines and different national experiences to be positive. To those of Argentina, Brazil, El Salvador, Mexico, Uruguay and Venezuela, two of the EU are added, while in the disciplines they represent we find political science, economics, history, international relations, and sociology.

This book presents the research results of several studies that correspond to research projects developed in the Master’s in Education and Master in Learning Difficulties programs of the Cooperative University of Colombia. All the proposed strategies were experiences and pedagogical experiences in the classroom that become a frame of reference on the line under study. The first chapter develops a classroom strategy that favors open and fluid communication and emphasizes the importance of autonomy and mastery of shared goals. The second recognizes teaching as an essential area for the performance of any profession; Teachers resort to different alternatives, to optimize learning outcomes; One of them is the Integrated Learning of Contents and Foreign Languages, which is used in the teaching processes and integrates contents of a foreign language. The third chapter highlights the influence of ICT in the evolution and innovation of knowledge, which is reflected in the scientific, technological and productive progress of each country. The fourth chapter presents a perspective to rethink industrial design in the current technological context, to propose strategies for its effectiveness in the teaching process. The fifth chapter deals with a theoretical foundation on learning difficulties (AD) and disability, with the intention, first, to differentiate them and, second, to make learning difficulties visible in the educational context. The final chapter presents a pedagogical experience in the classroom, from which the educational community is motivated against the teaching-learning processes of children who have learning difficulties.

The characteristics of gender-based violence are common at different levels, both at the macro social level and at home micro-violence. The fight against this epidemic and all prevention tasks require revealing a set of prejudices and complicities that foster attacks against women. Assuming our responsibility towards violence against women will allow us to build more harmonious and inclusive coexistence within the great diversity that, in terms of gender, presents postmodern life. This book focuses on a set of concepts, usually considered isolated, that form a plot of facilitation, typified as Catalysts of violence against women. They are a set of operations and processes whose participation is essential for the spread of the different epidemics of violence against women that plague humanity. This book proposes to try to disarm and hinder the action of these social accelerators, which can promote greater effectiveness of the various prevention programs. This shows how each of these catalysts has a powerful and long tradition in facilitating violence against women. This research attempts to provide instruments for analysis and resolution of gender violence, enabling interventions that are more precise and effective than those we have at the moment. Harm prevention and assistance for women at risk are a priority, not only in Latin American societies but also throughout the world.

Copyright is part of those sectors subject to a complex condition of variability marked by new creations and their effects on the market, by debates on the commodification of works versus the cultural value they have, by the effects of a globalized world in which guaranteeing the protection of works and at the same time obtaining the best of the benefits is a challenge in which actors from different disciplines and sectors have an interest. In this scenario, this book offers an approach to copyright from the constitutional, civil, criminal, disciplinary, and international aspects, and for each of these views, the doctrinal, legal, and jurisprudential references are basic elements in the exercise of providing a complete, updated text and, in this sense, a useful tool for people of different backgrounds who understand the importance and transversal nature and impact of adequate knowledge of the copyright regulatory framework to strengthen the processes of creation, protection, diffusion and commercialization of works.
